The parasolis foundation provides financial support to professionally recognized institutions with charitable or public purposes for projects that directly or indirectly benefit people affected by rare diseases.

parasolis supports people in need who are affected by rare diseases and their relatives through advice and emergency financial assistance.

The foundation only supports beneficiaries who do not pursue any commercial purpose and who are strictly neutral with regard to worldviews and religious denominations.

Support contributions
to patient organizations

parasolis advises and supports patient organisations, associations and self-help organisations that advocate for those affected by rare diseases and their relatives.

The foundation sets the following requirements for the supported institutions:

  • Verifiable proof of benefits for those affected by a recognized rare disease (the usual definition of a rare disease is a prevalence of < 5 affected individuals per 10,000 inhabitants)

  • non-profit and public-oriented, without commercial motive

  • small organisations for whom funding from the foundation makes a significant difference

  • Available transparency regarding the sponsoring organisation, financial sources, control structures and other requested information

Emergency aid for
individuals

The Parasolis Foundation advises and supports individuals affected by a rare disease and their relatives.

 

In justified individual cases, parsolis provides emergency financial assistance to individuals affected by a rare disease.

 

The foundation sets the following requirements for supported individuals:

  • acute personal or financial hardship related to a rare disease (the usual definition of a rare disease is a prevalence of < 5 affected individuals per 10,000 inhabitants)

  • Proof that other possible, publicly available support services have been requested but exhausted or rejected.

for projects

parasolis supports projects by individuals with proven expertise that directly or indirectly benefit the well-being of people affected by a rare disease.

parasolis reviews the funding of projects that meet the following criteria:

  • Practical, lasting benefits for people affected by rare diseases

  • Opening up new perspectives for those affected by rare diseases

  • Closing care gaps for those affected by rare diseases

  • Clear and coherent project objectives
